Bachelor of Design B.Des

Specializations offered: Interdisciplinary Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Integrated Communication Design

Duration: 4 years Full time

Eligibility:

• Minimum 60% aggregate marks in both Class X & XII or equivalent grades.
• Candidates should have passed classes 10th and 12th from a recognised Central/ State Board/ University in India or in any foreign country recognised as equivalent to 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• For those who appeared in Class XII exam in 2023, only XII marks in the applicable subjects will be considered for eligibility.
• The applicants are required to appear for JKLU-DET as their entrance exam for qualifying for admissions in JKLU.
• Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin/ Non-Resident Indian candidates can be considered for admission on the basis of their marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination only.

Duration: 2 years Full time

Eligibility:

• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in a three-year Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised University.
• Students appearing in the final examination of Bachelor’s Degree can also apply.
• JKLU-DET is mandatory for admissions.

Every year, our career guidance and placement department assists them in exploring new and exciting career options to make informed choices. The department organizes industry visits and numerous on-campus symposium for the outgoing students of our three institutes of Engineering, Management, and Design that create opportunities for them to interact with prospective recruiters and allow them to make inroads into unexplored sectors and fields.

The mentorship of a distinguished faculty fosters students to make an impact, both in and outside the classroom. Encompassing a wide spectrum of educational qualifications and academic experience, a team of distinguished scholars continues to explore new and interactive pathways of learning at JKLU.

There are separate hostel facilities for both, boys and girls –the hostels are located within the campus.

The hostel rooms are spacious and well furnished. The hostels have sports and other recreational facilities, such as Dish TV, common room for interaction, etc.

Hygienic and healthy food is provided in a centrally located mess, adjacent to the hostels. The mess is under the guidance of the Mess Committee that has both students and faculty members.

The hostels have open space around with greenery and plantation. There is round-the-clock internet connectivity in the entire campus, including the hostel rooms – students working through Wi-Fi Internet connectivity on their laptops in the open lawns are a common sight in the evenings.
